Institut Néel is a fundamental research laboratory in condensed matter physics with a strong interdisciplinary component at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering and biology. The institute possesses technological expertise of the highest level (e.g. nanofabrication, fast electronics, cryogenics, etc.) that is strongly intertwined with research projects. Institut Néel is an independent research unit of the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) created in 2007.
We will develop alternative noise-resilient qubits based on fluxonium aiming to demonstrate superior performance than transmon and compatibility with existing larger scale technology. We will focus Josephson junction superinductor and explore the possibility of using different materials to minimise losses. We will assess the performance of our approach with a quantitative analysis of the performances of two-qubit gates in our approach.
